This recipe was shared by Jane Hoffart, thank you Jane! Note: I have modified it a bit.
Spiced Apple Butter (Crock Pot)
Peel apples and cut into small pieces; when it is 1/2 full, add 2 c sugar, fill the rest of the way with apples then add 2 c more sugar, 2 tsp cinnamon, 1/8 tsp cloves. Have the Crock Pot as full as you can get it.
Cook on High 1 to 1 1/2 hours, stir 1-2 times, turn on Low; stir once in awhile.
Sterilize jars, lids, etc, Pour in jars, seal. Makes 4-5 pints.
This recipe takes approximately 12-15 small Jonathans or 3-4 lbs.
Note: I put mine in the Ziploc plastic containers and freeze them. Also, it will be chunky. About 1/2 way though or a little over of cooking I use a potato masher to mash the apples in the crock pot and at the end also. I am a pinch of this type of cook so feel free to alter to your tastes.
I started following OperationWriteHome.org, people making cards and doing stamping on cards to send to our men and women in the military, and somehow I ended up setting up my own blog, lol!
My intentions at this point are posts and comments about supporting our military and especially support of those who are family & friends of the Fallen Heroes, as well as occasionally sharing a favorite recipe or whatever may come to mind. I will at times share some of my favorite photos as well as photos of recipes when possible. If I ever make a stamped card that turns out really well I will post it as well.
I am totally new to this so bear with me as I fumble my way through.
My first recipe, Crock Pot Apple Butter, is one of my favorites was shared with me by a lovely woman that I worked for and I will post it next.
